The selection of the inlet filter cartridge actually involves many aspects, not only the cartridge itself, but also the entire system design. Therefore, when selecting a filter cartridge, you should refer to the processing air volume, surrounding environment, pre-filtration, etc.:
1) Conditions required for actual operation: Mainly consider the working conditions of different types of compressors and gas turbines, the expected pressure loss (pressure drop) of the operation, the filtering wind speed and efficiency of the filter cartridge, the size of the filtered target particle pollutants, and the dust holding capacity , Dust holding form (surface filtration or deep filtration), etc. Each item here needs to be considered when designing.
2) Design of air volume: From the point of view of use effect, of course, the larger the air volume, the better. In the design of air compressor and gas turbine inlet filters, conservative designs are often seen. Increasing the air volume matching is generally designed to double. Sometimes the design will be larger considering the use effect, but some owners pay more attention to the initial investment cost, so sometimes users complain that the filter cartridge has a short service life. In fact, it is too matching. Small reason.
3) The design of the filter cartridge: The design of the filter cartridge mainly considers the installation method, the filter area, the filter cartridge guard, the sealing ring and the filter cartridge material selection, etc., each of which has different requirements. If the installation method involves space location, maintenance and replacement, the filter area will affect the filter air volume, the filter cartridge protection screen involves backflushing and the strength of the filter cartridge, and the sealing ring will affect the stability of the filter cartridge’s sealing performance. 4) Surrounding environment: Two aspects need to be considered in the surrounding environment. One is the objectively existing climate around. For example, changing seasons, deserts, coastal areas, cities, severe cold and other different environments will affect the selection of filter cartridges. There is an environment that considers surrounding related enterprises (such as thermal power plants, water towers, chemical plants, etc.), agricultural activities, wind direction (windward, leeward), and the height of the air inlet from the ground (local airflow caused by buildings and terrain), These need to be considered in the design selection.
5) Multi-stage filtration: Multi-stage filtration involves pre-filtration and high-efficiency filtration at the back end. In many cases, it is difficult to complete the filtration requirements by only one-stage filter cartridge filtration. For example, catkins, insects, wind and sand, humidity, fog, rain, salt, snow, smoke, etc., require selective addition of climate hoods, screens, inertial separators, moisture coalescers, metal protective nets, non-woven cotton, etc. . In the case of air intake requirements of H11-H13 or higher, you can choose to add a three-stage high efficiency filter. The addition of multi-stage filtration can not only protect the filter and the filter cartridge, but also improve the service life of the filter cartridge. It is a practical way to design the inlet filter.
When designing, efficiency and cost are opposite, so a set of inlet filters with a reasonable design can not only complete the filtration task efficiently, but also save costs for users.
