How to solve the irritating computer room air conditioning noise

According to relevant surveys, the noise generated by abnormal air conditioners is often the most unbearable sound pollution for consumers. The vibration and noise of the air-conditioning equipment in the computer room (fans, chillers, water pumps, cooling towers, etc.) due to mechanical movement, in addition to causing noise pollution to the surrounding environment, will also be transmitted to the air-conditioned room through air ducts, walls, floors, etc. Inside, the noise in the room is increased. Larger mechanical noise and environmental noise will make people irritable and inattentive, which will affect the quality and efficiency of office and rest.

   1. Installation of air-conditioning indoor unit

The installation of the indoor unit of the air conditioner and the connection of the outdoor unit also affect the use and noise of the air conditioner. If the indoor unit is not installed stable enough, when the outdoor unit is running, the copper pipe is connected to the indoor unit. If the indoor unit is not stable enough, it will be affected by the compressor, causing the indoor unit to resonate.

   2. Looseness of the air conditioner panel

When the air conditioner is used for a long time, the panel of the air conditioner is easy to loosen due to various reasons. In this way, the vibration generated by the air conditioner during operation will cause the panels to rub against each other and generate noise.

   3. Compressor operation

The outdoor compressor of air conditioner is also one of the sources of air conditioner noise. Excessive noise of the compressor will also affect the normal use and rest of users.

   Four, air conditioning outlet

The main noise source of the air conditioner is the air outlet of the air conditioner. The higher the wind speed of the air conditioner, the greater the noise value of the air conditioner. This is one of the main noise sources of the air conditioner.

   1. In addition to noise reduction and vibration reduction for fans or other computer room air-conditioning equipment, noise reduction treatment is also required on the air duct to reduce the noise transmitted through the air duct.

2. For equipment such as fans, water pumps, chillers, cooling towers, etc., in addition to adopting low noise values, vibration reduction and vibration isolation measures should also be taken, and noise-absorbing walls and noise-absorbing doors should also be taken as far as possible for the computer room. Reduce the transmission of noise. A muffler must be installed on the air-conditioning air duct of the computer room to eliminate the noise generated by the equipment from being transmitted to the air-conditioned room of the computer room.

3. According to different structures and different noise reduction principles, there are many types of mufflers used in computer room air-conditioning projects. Commonly used are impedance composite muffler, tube muffler, micro-perforated plate muffler, chip muffler, folded plate muffler, and sound attenuation Elbows, muffler pipe sections, etc.

   5. Strengthen the support for the wall and level up the uneven ground

When installing the air conditioner, strengthen the support for the fragile wall, level up the uneven ground, and install the rack flat and tighten the foot bolts. Otherwise, the air conditioner will generate vibration and noise.

  6. The reasons for the vibration and noise of the air conditioner are roughly as follows:

   1. If the outdoor unit of a window or split type air conditioner is installed on a wall with a fragile structure, it will vibrate and generate noise.

  2. When the outdoor unit of split type air conditioner is installed on uneven ground, balcony and roof, it is prone to vibration and noise.

  3. The frame is not flat, and the foot bolts that fix the air conditioner are tightened at the end, which is prone to vibration and noise.

Seven, load-bearing walls and non-bearing walls

load-bearing wall refers to solid brick and concrete walls that bear the weight of the house structure, such as multi-layer exterior walls and exterior walls of high-rise buildings. This type of wall is relatively strong, the expansion bolts are easy to fix firmly, and the frame of the outdoor unit is relatively strong after installation. After installation, the mass of the air conditioner is transferred to the wall by the expansion bolts.

Non-load-bearing walls refer to hollow brick walls and porous brick walls. Their main function is to divide the room or fill the void area under the load-bearing component, and do not support the quality of the house structure, so the wall is relatively loose, and it is not easy to firmly fix the frame to the wall by expansion bolts alone. In this case, if you want to install an outdoor unit, you should drill through the bolt holes, add a patch plate or flat steel inside the house, and then fix the rack with double-headed long bolts to withstand the quality of the air conditioner.

   8. Reinforcement method when installing an air conditioner on a non-load-bearing wall

   1. Reinforcement method when installing window air conditioner

When installing a window air conditioner on a non-load-bearing wall with insufficient strength, a reinforced angle steel frame should be used on the inside or outside of the wall, and the steel frame should be fixed on the wall with anchor bolts to increase the supporting area and distribute the load on the wall.

  2. Reinforcement method when installing the outdoor unit of split air conditioner

When installing an outdoor unit of a split air conditioner on a wall with insufficient strength, the rack cannot be firmly fixed to the wall with four expansion bolts alone. Even if it is reluctantly fixed, it will not be firm, and the air conditioner will fall over time. In this case, double-headed long bolts and inner lining board or flat steel should be used to clamp the wall in the middle to fix the external rack, and to distribute the mass of the air conditioner to a larger wall area to support, so that the installation is safe .

  9. Avoid drilling through wall holes in reinforced concrete walls

It is not advisable to open wall holes (holes) for window air conditioners on reinforced concrete walls. Due to the large area, several longitudinal and horizontal steel bars may be cut off. This will affect the structural strength of the wall and is absolutely not allowed. If you install a split type air conditioner, it’s best not to punch the through-wall hole (about ф80%) of the refrigerant piping bundle on a reinforced concrete wall. Because the position of the steel bar is not clear, it is easy to damage the drill cutting tool when encountering the steel bar. Punching is particularly laborious.

If you really can’t change the position, you must drill the pipe through the wall on the reinforced concrete wall. Try to drill slowly. Change the position when encountering steel bars. Make small holes first, and then slowly expand.
