What are the characteristics of lithium bromide absorption refrigeration units in air conditioning projects

In air-conditioning engineering, most commonly used refrigeration units are vapor compression refrigeration methods, and the refrigerant used in compression refrigeration is halogenated hydrocarbons (ie Freon).

In recent years, as countries around the world have entered the era of rapid development of science and technology and rapid growth of advanced industries, the damage to the earth’s ecology and the pollution of the atmosphere have also become more serious. In addition to the pollution of rivers and lakes, land pollution, and the destruction of the ecological environment, there are also freon refrigerants that are rapidly developing and are manufactured and used in large quantities, which are also another killer that threatens the atmospheric environment. Freon will cause the destruction of the atmospheric ozone layer, make the atmospheric ozone layer thinner, or have holes. Ultraviolet rays will directly irradiate people's skin when there is no ozone layer protection, causing people to suffer from skin diseases such as skin cancer and bringing disasters to humans . Therefore, many countries have stipulated that Freon refrigerants should not be used after several years, so lithium bromide absorption refrigeration will be widely used in air conditioning refrigeration systems.

Features of lithium bromide absorption refrigeration unit:

   (1) Lithium bromide absorption working fluid does not pollute humans and the environment.

  (2) Applicable to areas and conditions with heat sources and waste heat.

   (3) Except for refrigerant and solution pumps, there are basically no moving parts, so it runs smoothly, without large vibrations and low noise.

   (4) Because the lithium bromide solution is highly corrosive, it is required that the container and coil should be made of corrosion-resistant materials.

   (5) The cooling water consumption is larger than that of the compression chiller.

  (6) The compression refrigeration unit saves power, is easy to manage and maintain, and can automatically adjust the concentration of the solution.

   (7) The equipment is large in size, consumes a lot of metal, and occupies a large area of the freezing station.

   (8) When the direct-fired type is adopted, a gas (or fuel oil) system must be added, and automatic monitoring and safety protection devices should be installed.

  (9) In the cooling water circulation system, the same as the compression refrigeration unit, due to the increase in the amount of cooling water, the investment cost of the cooling tower may increase.
