The air conditioning of Volkswagen Tiguan has poor cooling effect, and poorly repaired compressors and condensers make car owners distressed!
The air-conditioning system of a car is composed of many parts. The most important parts are compressors, condensers, expansion valves, evaporation boxes, etc., as well as many high and low pressure pipes. Any problem with any of these parts will cause problems with the refrigeration of the air conditioner, which requires our car owners' attention!
A few days ago, a Volkswagen Tiguan made in 2011 came to the repair shop because of the poor cooling effect of air conditioning. The fault phenomenon described by the car owner is: After turning on the air conditioner, the wind blowing from the car is not cool, and the cooling effect is poor. Who knows, after careful inspection, the auto repair master told the owner that there was a problem with the compressor and condenser, and they were not repairable! The poorly repaired compressor and condenser make car owners very distressed, because the prices of these two parts are very expensive!
The auto repair master inspected the engine compartment and determined that the problem was with the compressor. Its internal wear was serious and its compression effect on the refrigerant deteriorated. The only thing to do is to replace it with a new compressor. Since the compressor is seriously worn out, many impurities will be produced. These impurities will accumulate on the condenser and block the small holes inside the condenser and affect the cooling effect, so the condenser also needs to be replaced!
Since there is no other repair method, the owner of Tiguan agreed with the master's repair plan after considering it! As shown by the arrow in the picture below, this is a new condenser, and the master has replaced it!
The replacement of the compressor is a little more difficult. As shown by the arrow in the figure below, the master has removed the compressor belt and the screws that secure the compressor, and is removing the high and low pressure pipes that are fixed to the compressor! The sludge on the compressor is caused by oil leaking from the engine!
There is a position for fixing the high-pressure pipeline on the compressor, and a position for fixing the low-pressure pipeline. There are two screws in total. One of the screws is easy to remove, the other is more difficult to remove! The screws shown in the orange area in the picture below are easy to remove, but the screws shown in the green area are rusty and difficult to remove. The master took a lot of effort to remove it!
The green area in the figure below shows the new compressor. The master said it is an original compressor and must use good accessories; the orange area shows that this is an old compressor, which is internally damaged and cannot be repaired!
According to the master, the compressor also needs lubrication during operation. The lubricant it needs is not lubricating oil such as engine oil, but special lubricating oil, as shown in the following figure.
As shown in the picture below, the master is installing a new compressor. It should be noted that the sealing ring shown in the red area in the figure below, mainly check this sealing ring, do not let it appear damaged, if it is damaged, it will cause refrigerant leakage!
As shown in the picture below, this is an old condenser. It is not damaged, but due to the serious wear and tear of the compressor, there are a lot of impurities accumulated in the condenser. If it is not replaced, the refrigerant circulation in the condenser will not be effective, which will affect the cooling effect!
The master saw that the owner did not understand too much, and let the owner look at the inside of a condenser that had been cut! Figure 1 below is a cross-section of the water tank. The holes inside it are very large, while the holes inside the condenser shown in 2 are very small and easily blocked by impurities! After seeing this, the owner understood the reason why the master replaced the condenser!
After the auto repair master has installed the new compressor and condenser, the air conditioning system needs to be pressured with a vacuum pump first. The purpose is to test whether the air conditioning system has leaks, especially the new compressor pipeline interface and condenser pipeline interface If the test does not leak, you need to use a vacuum pump to vacuum the refrigeration system to remove the moisture inside the refrigeration system, and then charge the refrigerant!
Finally, the air conditioning and refrigeration effect repaired by the auto repair master is particularly good, and the owner is very satisfied with the repair result.
