1. Coil Short Circuit or Open Circuit
Detection method: First, measure its make-break with a multimeter. If the resistance value approaches zero or infinity, it indicates that the coil is short circuited or open circuited. The normal resistance about tens of ohms. If the resistance value is not normal, please conduct the following test: find a small screwdriver and put it near the metal rod threaded in the solenoid valve coil. And then energize the solenoid valve. If you feel magnetism, it means the solenoid valve coil is good. Otherwise it is bad. The coil service life of general solenoid valve brands is about 100,000 times. Although some good solenoid valve are more expensive, the coil service life can generally reach 1-5 million times.
Treatment method: Replace the solenoid valve coil.

Figure 2: Measure it with a multimeter.
2. Problem with Plug / Socket

Figure 3: Plugs of solenoid valves.
Fault phenomenon: If the solenoid valve has a plug / socket, there may be problems with the metal reed of the socket and the wiring on the plug (for example, the power line is connected to the grounding wire), and the power supply cannot be sent to the coil. You’d better to form a habit: screw in the fixing screw after the plug is inserted into the socket. If the plug of solenoid valve coil is equipped with LED power indicator, do not replace the power plug with LED power indicator at different voltage levels which will lead to the burning of LED / short circuit of power supply or weak light emission of LED.
Treatment method: Correct wiring errors and repair or replace plugs and sockets.
3. Problems of Valve Core

Figure 4: Valve core.
Fault phenomenon 1: Press the red manual button of the solenoid valve when the pressure of the medium is normal. If there is no response of the solenoid valve at this time (there is no make-break change in the pressure medium), it means the valve core is broken.
Treatment method: Check whether the medium has such problems like there is a lot of ponding in the compressed air or the liquid medium has a lot of impurities. Then remove the accumulated water or impurities in the solenoid valve and pipeline. If the problem still exist, please repair or replace the valve core.
Fault phenomenon 2: The coil is the original coil and the magnetism is normal when the coil is powered on, but the solenoid valve still does not act (at this time, the function of the manual button of the solenoid valve may be normal), it means that the valve core is broken.
General brand solenoid valves use diaphragm type structure, and the sealing performance will be relatively poor. But piston solenoid valves generally use piston type structure which can not only withstand high temperature and high pressure, but also ensure the sealing performance.
Treatment method: Please repair or replace the valve core, or replace the whole solenoid valve directly.
