How to install a Vane Pump

1. Common Installation Methods of Vane Pump

1.1 Tripod Mounted

The pump body is installed and fixed on a special foot rest with screws, and the foot rest is fixed on the base plate of the machine and equipment with bolts. When this installation method is adopted, the pump shaft is connected with the original motor through elastic coupling or other transmission components, and the requirements for installation accuracy can be reduced, but the floor space is large.

1.2 Flange Mounted

It uses the flange end face and the lip circumference on the pump body to locate. The shaft end of the pump is inserted into the shaft core hole of the transmission shaft of the machine and equipment, and the flange on the pump body is directly installed and fixed on the box of the machine and equipment with screws. This installation method is compact in structure and takes up small space, but it requires high machining accuracy such as the concentricity of the upper lip circumference of the machine and equipment with the main shaft and shaft core hole, as well as the perpendicularity of the axis of the flange end face, so as to ensure the concentricity of the pump shaft and the transmission shaft of the machine and equipment after installation. Otherwise the normal operation of the pump will be affected.

1.3 Baseplate Mounted

The inlet and outlet of the pump are arranged on the bottom surface of the pump body. The bottom surface is connected with a special installation base plate by screws, and the base plate is fixed on the installation base surface by bolts. The bottom plate is provided with threaded inlet and outlet, which can be connected with oil inlet and outlet pipes respectively. It can also be directly connected with the connecting block of the integrated or superimposed hydraulic system by using the pump body. This installation method is easy to install on the oil tank cover plate or combine with the integrated hydraulic system, reducing the connecting pipeline.

2. Improper Use Performance

2.1 The Coupling is too Tight

Because the fit clearance between the coupling and the shaft is too small or there is no clearance, the bearing will be injured when it is knocked hard, resulting in early damage to the bearing and affecting the service life of the whole pump core.

2.2 Stress on The Shaft Head

The coupling does not reserve a certain axial clearance during installation, and the hardware installation will damage the bearing and bearing retaining ring, which will damage the whole pump core in serious cases.

2.3 Coaxiality

If the coaxiality exceeds the specified value of the pump during installation, the bearing and the whole pump core will be eccentric and damaged early. Generally, it is better to control it to be less than or equal to 0.1mm.

2.4 Dirty Oil

Because the mailbox is not sealed, the surrounding dust and iron mixed into the oil can cause early damage to the oil pump.

2.5 The Oil Temperature is too High

Because the cooling device is not installed, the oil temperature will continue to rise during continuous use of the machine. If the oil temperature is above 70 ℃ for a long time, the service life of the oil pump will be greatly shortened, and it will generally be damaged in half a year to a year (sometimes shorter).

2.6 Water inflow in the oil

In the device with water cooling, due to the poor sealing of the water pipe, the water enters the oil, causing the pump core parts to rust, lock, and the blades cannot be thrown out.
